1. Patagonia, Argentina

Patagonia, Argentina, is my favorite region in the world, renowned for its untouched natural beauty and exhilarating sense of adventure. The towering peaks of the Andes, expansive windswept plains, and shimmering glacial lakes create an unparalleled landscape for exploration. A highlight is the awe-inspiring Perito Moreno Glacier, where you can trek across or simply admire this majestic natural wonder. Hiking the iconic trails of Mount Fitz Roy or Torres del Paine immerses you in some of the most breathtaking scenery on Earth. Whether horseback riding through the rugged wilderness or hanging with the friendly communal dogs, Patagonia offers an unmatched connection to nature. Be sure to experience the ice bars and enjoy the vibrant nightlife with locals and fellow travelers. Patagonia was the most breathtaking experience of my life, and I can’t wait to return.

2. Copenhagen, Denmark

Copenhagen is known for its perfect blend of old-world charm and modern innovation. From cozy cafes to world-renowned restaurants, the city’s cobblestone streets and colorful houses reflect its rich history, while cutting-edge sustainable design showcases its forward-thinking mindset. But what many people don’t realize is just how friendly the locals are and how surprisingly fun the party scene can be. I once thought nothing could top Barcelona’s nightlife, but Copenhagen blew me away with its unique blend of laid-back charm and unforgettable nights out (just ask Kendrick Lamar). For a touristy twist, I highly recommend taking one of the scenic boat tours through Copenhagen’s charming canals, offering a different perspective of the city’s beauty. Art lovers shouldn’t miss the MACA Museum, a stunning contemporary art museum located in central Copenhagen at the iconic Nyhavn waterfront, showcasing works by some of the greatest artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, including Banksy, Warhol, Basquiat, and Kusama. For an offbeat experience, visit the unincorporated town of Christiania, a free-spirited community known for its alternative lifestyle, art, and unique charm. Copenhagen’s commitment to sustainability, paired with its cuisine and dynamic cultural and social life, makes it not just a beautiful city but a model for the future of urban living.

3. Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Rio de Janeiro is a city that defies description. Every time I think about it, I’m left in awe. Rio captivates me like no other city, with its upbeat energy and dramatic natural beauty. The iconic landscapes—Sugarloaf Mountain, Christ the Redeemer, and the golden beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema—are as breathtaking in person as they are in photos. But what truly sets Rio apart is its infectious spirit. The city pulses with life, from the rhythms of samba to the passion for football, and the warmth of its people makes every visit feel like a celebration. I visited during Carnaval and absolutely need to go back. And let’s not forget the world-famous caipirinhas, made with cachaça—the perfect drink to toast the unforgettable experiences. Rio also goes all out for its New Year’s celebration, a spectacle as lively and vibrant as the city itself.

4. Medellín, Colombia

Medellín holds a special place in my heart as the city that gave me my first passport stamp—so please forgive any bias! Known as the “City of Eternal Spring” for its consistently pleasant climate, Medellín is nestled in a lush valley surrounded by majestic mountains. I fell in love with the city’s beauty, dynamic food scene, and thriving art culture. The food, with its fresh and natural flavors, was exceptional, and their vegan empanadas are simply unbeatable. Medellín’s nightlife is equally impressive, with many of the most popular reggaeton artists, like J. Balvin, Karol G, and Maluma, hailing from the city. And yes, the people here are just as beautiful as they appear in photos. Medellín has undergone a remarkable transformation, evolving from a troubled past into one of South America’s most innovative and forward-thinking cities.

5. Barcelona, Spain

Barcelona is built different, and I’m not just talking about its architecture—though Gaudí’s stunning creations certainly set it apart. This city ignites all the senses, which is why it’s one of my favorites. The unique blend of Catalan culture, Gaudí’s extraordinary architecture, and a beach scene makes Barcelona a place where you can enjoy both the modern and the traditional. Walking through the narrow streets of the Gothic Quarter or strolling down Las Ramblas feels like stepping into a living museum. The city’s world-class cuisine and lively nightlife ensure that there’s always something exciting happening. And speaking of nightlife—whatever positive things you’ve heard about Barcelona’s scene are absolutely true. That city owes me nothing.
